My therapy training was in the dialogue between Person Centred and Psychodynamic Modalities, which means I am trained in both.

I work in the Psychodynamic Modality, although I embody Carl Rogers’ (founder of Person Centred Therapy) ‘6 core conditions’ as a necessity in my work. You can read about these here. (credit to Mick Cooper)

My focus in the counselling is to put the relationship with my clients – and the valuing of the experience of the client – at the heart of our work together.

The Psychodynamic approach looks at current patterns of relating – including avoidance of relating or maladaptive relating – and connects them to their possible origin in family dynamics, past experiences and the client’s early childhood.

When we begin to work together, there will be an assessment process. This is for me to ascertain how best to support you and to identify your reasons for seeking counselling. It will also help us make sure it is suitable for us to work together.

Where I work

Face to face: I currently see clients for counselling Face to Face in Elgin, Moray.

Wherever you are in the country, we can work together on video call or by telephone, to be discussed.

Book a call

I offer a 15 minute phone or video call so we can meet and see if we would be a good fit for working together. This call helps me to identify what support for you would look like. It gives you a chance to have a chat with me and ask any questions you may have about counselling and how I work.

Clients have reported that having the opportunity to meet for a no-obligation chat first helped to ease some anxiety about embarking on the counselling journey. Book here.
